Each year the Kellys' and Jones' venture to the Destin Area for a yearly beach trip. Some of the special moments of the trip includes an annual visit to the "go cart track" and a trip to the local eating joint known as "Elmo's".  We also have nightly runs to the local "Brewsters" ice cream joint.  These trips are usually taken at between 10 and 11 p.m.  These late trips will ensure that we all keep our extra pounds. 

Without a doubt, the families are always greeted by a thunderstorm or two during the week.  Like all real beach lovers, the Jones and Kellys "ride the storm out" on the beach.  Mike Jones, who is the real leader of this practice, is known for his ability to "hunker down" in the storm and withstand even the strongest of wind.  All in all, the week was pretty uneventful.  Except for those "Kelly Girl" arguments which always includes swift shaking of the head and hands, not to mention the eye rolling by all three of them.  Kaylan, Jasilynn and Julianna always manage to make up by the end of the day.  Nina Boo, my niece, is always ready to add her "opinion" to the argument as well......NOTHING like the Family Vacation!!!
